2022: Year in Review

5 minutes

With 2022 drawing to an end, we thought it would be a great time to reflect on our year at Qlic. This year marks the 20th year of Qlic IT!

Not only has the team achieved (& surpassed) lots of the targets set out this year, but we have also had the opportunity to work with lots of new businesses & charities, as well as,  attended and sponsored more events than ever before!

Keep reading to find out all about what we have achieved as a team in 2022…

Attending More Digital Events in 2022

This year, we had the opportunity to attend lots of in-person events which we thoroughly enjoyed. This is one of the goals that we set for 2022 because before the pandemic started, we would love to attend in-person events across the UK to meet lots of new faces and provide our IT advice to the third sector personally. Even though we do love to attend online events, you can’t beat the in-person interaction!

One event which we have kept online for the past 3 years is our Small Charity IT Day. This year we hosted it on the 16th of November and had an amazing turnout! Small Charity IT Day is dedicated to providing advice and guidance to the third sector on all things IT. However, next year we do plan on slightly tweaking the title of our event, as all-sized charities are welcome, not just small ones!

This year we attended 12 in-person and online events in total!

Qlic Sponsorship

This year we introduced Qlic Sponsorship Opportunities. With the year starting off a little unprecedented and now with the cost-of-living crisis among us, we believe that networking is more important than ever before. Regularly communicating with other charities and peers in-person is a great way to help charities through this isolating time. That’s why we wanted to help make charity meetings possible again, with our sponsorship!

So far this year, we’ve had the opportunity to sponsor multiple in-person and virtual digital events which have been a great success. This includes Surrey Community Action’s Charity Mash-Up, Charity Digital’s Be More Digital event and much more!

We want to sponsor even more next year, so if you know of any upcoming charity events we can sponsor, please let us know here.

Introducing New Tech

We were able to introduce some new technology and software to our clients this year to help us provide even better customer service and support!

In January we introduced BrightGauge. BrightGauge is a client reporting software that lets you see all your organisation’s support ticket trends. This includes seeing who has raised the most tickets, what days of the week are busiest for support issues and how many tickets you’ve raised each month, as well as drilling down into the individual tickets.

At the start of Spring, we implemented Microsoft Bookings, this is a brand new feature within the MS 365 environment that provides an easy way to book meetings! Not only have we been using this for our Account Review Meetings and New Client Meetings, but our Solutions Delivery Team has also been using Microsoft Bookings to book in your brand-new device builds, at times that suit you and your staff!

Finally, over the Summer we implemented Timezest! Timezest is a great tool allowing your staff to be able to book a Service Call directly with an engineer and link this into a ticket. This allows us to manage expectations and gives you the ability to give us the time we need to resolve any issues around your busy schedule!

2022 Charity Challenges

At the end of last year, we made it one of our goals to complete a Charity Challenge every quarter during 2022, and we’ve done just that! We completed 4 Charity Challenges this year, including a team bake-off, a steps challenge, a run and cycle challenge and a specific challenge created by The Conqueror called the Great Wall of China.

We’re proud to say that we have raised over £2,000 from our quarterly Charity Challenges which all went to the following charities, Lucy Air Ambulance, Mental Health Resource, Age UK Ealing and The Grange at Bookham. We’re planning to continue doing another 4 Charity Challenges a year for 2023!

We also have a new addition to the support desk, our Facilities Management Technician, Darren.
