About Strawberry Hill House & Garden
Strawberry Hill House & Garden, created by Horace Walpole in the 18th century, has been open to visitors for over 250 years. This extraordinary building is internationally famous as Britain’s finest example of Georgian Gothic revival architecture and home to an increasingly important collection of paintings and objects.
SHHG is the home of Gothic, inspiring the imagination through timeless stories of art, literature, architecture and landscape for today and future generations.
They strive to share their passion for the House, its contents and the Garden, welcoming the widest possible audience and bringing enthusiasm, creativity and innovation to everything they do. They want to work wherever possible with partners and collaborators who share their values.
Strawberry Hill House & Garden's Challenges
Historic house museums are expensive to open, maintain and conserve the fragile objects. At the moment one of the key features of the gothic staircase the antelopes are in a poor state of repair.
They are trying to raise £1500 to get these repaired in time for Christmas.
