About Brain & Spine Foundation
The Brain and Spine Foundation, soon to be rebranded as i-Neuro, is a charity dedicated to helping people affected in any way by neurological health conditions.
- They operate a Helpline with a team of fantastic nurses, who are there to offer support and guidance to both patients and carers, as well as an enhanced emotional support service for those in need of it.
- They provide booklets with easy-to-understand information about a wide range of neurological conditions, which are available for both download and in hard copy.
- Their website is full of important information for the neurological community, and we organise events and raise awareness through multiple campaigns, with a particular focus each year on a large London Marathon campaign.
- They operate professional support groups in the form of Neuro Social and Neuro Creatives, which provide much needed support to the community.
- They run the NeuroLifeNow programme, which gives a voice to members of the neuro community and allows them to share their lived experience widely in a way that makes the case for change in neuro care.
- They run the Neuro Changemakers campaign, which aims to create a volunteer-led network of peer-support groups throughout the UK.
Brain & Spine Foundation's Challenges
Right now they are trying to raise a substantial amount of money in order to:
- Facilitate their transition from Brain & Spine to i-Neuro
- Ensure continued success of their professional services and Helpline
- Fund the expansion of NeuroLifeNow and Neuro Changemakers
They would love any support you can provide to help them in their mission to make the case for change in neurological care and support the neuro community.
Brain & Spine Foundation's Achievements
Every year, the charity help approximately 600,000 people who are either directly or indirectly impacted by one or more neurological conditions.
They facilitate thousands of helpline calls and distribute tens of thousands of pieces of health information each year, with a huge community involved in their peer-support groups, NeuroLifeNow research and their Neuro Changemakers campaign.
Brain & Spine Foundation believe a smarter medicine is possible, and that with the right approach they will achieve this. This will be the key to long-term support for the neuro community, a community whose size is larger than cancer and heart disease combined, but a community that is consistently neglected by the healthcare establishment globally.
