About Time & Talents

At Time & Talents, they want to create a world where everyone feels part of a community – and where nobody is left out, or left behind.

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community organisation based Rotherhithe, Canada Water and Bermondsey. Set in a leafy heritage venue in an old mortuary (which is much nicer than it sounds!), as well as in T&T2, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, Time & Talents has something for everyone.

They have a history stretching back 135 years. Since day one they’ve been supporting local people of all ages and bringing people together for mutual support, fun and friendship. With a wide range of activities at our centres, along with volunteering and schools’ outreach projects across local neighbourhoods, they work to help everyone feel part of a community.

They see a core part of their work as providing ways for people to connect and share their time and talents, including a wide range of volunteering opportunities, skills-sharing, and opportunities to socialise. They want to connect neighbours close and far, reduce isolation and build a supportive, resilient community.

Time & Talents's Challenges

This winter as the Cost of Living Crisis worsens, Time & Talents is seeing more people than ever in need of support. Time & Talents has growing waiting lists for many of our projects, particularly for those supporting people who are housebound or who need help with food poverty.

Help support Time & Talents and the amazing work they do for local communities here.

Time & Talents's Achievements / Goals

Last year Time & Talents supported 393 older people (31 over 90 years of age). They provided one-to-one assessments and support for 114 with higher needs, and another 138 housebound older people benefited from the friendship of a volunteer befriender. Time & Talents supported 249 disadvantaged local children aged 0-11 years old – many experiencing Adverse Childhood Experiences – to learn, play and grow through our offer of free activities.

As well as this, 126 parents were able to access peer support and signposting for their own needs and they supported 60 children experiencing food poverty with Holiday Hunger clubs and 405 food packages for their whole families.

Time & Talents work continues to grow, and this winter they are also a founding partner in Southwark Council’s Warm Spaces initiative and a trusted referral partner into Southwark’s Cost of Living Fund. T&T has helped local people in need get more than £60,000 in grants to help with their heating bills in just over three months.
