Time & Talents is a lively, busy community organisation based Rotherhithe, Canada Water and Bermondsey.
Time & Talents have a history stretching back 136 years. Since day one we’ve been supporting local people of all ages, and bringing people together for mutual support, fun and friendship. With a wide range of activities at our centres, along with volunteering and schools’ outreach projects across local neighbourhoods, we work to help everyone feel part of a community.
Time & Talents were using Hybrid cloud setup with MS SharePoint Online, synchronised back to a physical server. The system was troublesome and restricted their need for flexibility and collaboration across the organisation. In addition, the current IT support provider was not providing any solutions or consultancy to their ongoing problems. There had been a breakdown in service and communication.
The organisation was looking for a provider to scope and implement a new solution and provide ongoing pro-active service, consultancy and customer service. T&T were referred to Qlic by a mutual contact and existing client, Southwark Pensioners.
Following an initial meeting and factfind with Diana at T&T, we proposed our Enterprise IT Support service, along with a proposal to alleviate the ongoing problems and migrate to a full cloud solution powered by SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune and Azure. This would allow T&T to fully decommission their physical server and provide the much needed resilience and flexibility to their IT infrastructure.
Following a site survey and Best Practice Analysis, our Solutions Delivery worked collaboratively with the team at T&T to fully scope and prepare for the migration.
Our team reconfigured all user devices to login directly to Microsoft Azure Active Directory and created Microsoft Intune Policies in line with government Cyber Essentials recommendations to create a secure working environment. The synchronisation between server and SharePoint was removed and devices were configured to use SharePoint Files on Demand directly. The server was decommissioned entirely and a new server was built in Microsoft Azure to allow user to remotely connect with Sage Line 50 software.
Time & Talents are very happy with the completed project and are no able to work flexibly and more productively knowing their systems are hosted by Microsoft 365 – with no need for a physical server!
Our comprehensive IT Support service continues to provide advice and support to end users, as well as ongoing consultancy and facilities management (including adding/removing users, deploying new devices and amending SharePoint security groups and permissions).
